Personalized training plans for runners and athletes of all levels.

The Jess Walhof Broadcasting Network was created at the end of 2021, a year that was filled with adventures as I chased, crewed, paced, and raced with friends at a number of ultra-running events across the US and shared some of the journey along the way. The Instagram page was born as a place to share those adventures outside of my personal page and was truly named by a friend who is always excited to tune in or even join in on the journey. I’ve decided to utilize the JWBN to house my coaching as it is the epitome of what I hope to continue to do: share the joy of movement.

How do you move mountains? One stone at a time. Planning. Consistency. Determination. Persistence.
At JWBN Coaching, every individual is welcome, and every goal matters. Wherever you are in your fitness journey, I offer a safe place to cultivate, dream, progress, and achieve. JWBN Moving Mountain Coaching seeks to empower your fitness journey by delivering thoughtful and genuine guidance through individualized training to help you reach your fitness goals and in the process, to find joy in the journey.
Together we can move your mountain.

Your journey is specific to you, and your training should be too. There is no ideal one-size-fits-all training plan which is why the JWBN coaching method takes the time to get to know you, the athlete. Learning where you are at in your journey, where you want to go, and how are we going to get you there.
First and foremost, every training plan is tailored specifically to the individual and your specific goals and where you are at in your fitness journey.
While every person’s path and goals are different, they all begin by building a solid foundation, called the base building phase. For the runner, this consists of developing endurance through consistent aerobic training as well as fundamental strength training. After building a solid base, the JWBN run coaching method utilizes the key sequential training phases of Running Intervals, Tempo, and Steady State to help you improve your fitness, aerobic capacity, and race readiness, complete with the taper phase to optimize your recovery for peak performance on race day.

I am an experienced fitness professional with a passion for running and its community, especially when it comes to trails and ultra running.
I would never have thought I’d be a runner, much less an ultra-runner. Growing up I only ran if it involved chasing a sports ball and my track and field participation started and ended with throwing the shot put and discus. But then I had to partake in a VO2max test for a college course, so I started training to avoid completely dying in front of my peers. I started at ground zero, running a half mile and through consistency, I found a love for running and for what it has brought it has brought into my life physically, emotionally, spiritually and socially.
Building off my first half mile run, slowly dipped my toes into the running scene and have since completed (with some competing) nearly every distance imaginable: 5k, 10k, half marathons, marathons, 50k, 50 miles, 100k, 100 miles and beyond as well as sprint, olympic, half ironman, and ironman distance triathlons. I truly believe that you can start from anywhere and accomplish big things!
Professionally, I’ve worked in the fitness industry for over a decade and have been fortunate to work and engage with a diverse population of varying skills and goals ranging from junior high and high school athletes to the general population and to those managing chronic health conditions and disabilities. This experience and knowledge has helped me develop strength training and running plans to run and train virtually injury free throughout my over-decade-long running career.
